The Complete Engine is a high quality engine that has been assembled by SP Takegawa mechanics with proper control of each part.
■The Desmodromic 4V Desmodromic mechanism uses a specially shaped camshaft and rocker arm to forcibly open and close the valves. Since there are no valve springs, there is no surging in the high RPM range and very little friction related to the camshaft drive. SP Takegawa's cylinder head development technology has been combined with the characteristics of the desmodromic mechanism to achieve the highest class of intake and exhaust efficiency and high engine performance. Valve Diameter Intake: 22mm x 2 / exhaust: 19mm x 2 Rocker arm (forced valve opening / closing mechanism):The valve opening and closing is forced by the camshaft without the valve spring. Compared with the valve spring type, it reduces the resistance of the valve train and eliminates the valve surging that occurs in the high RPM range, resulting in smooth engine response and high output. The exhaust port is located at the same position as on the Monkey (carburettor model).With this change, you can choose the exhaust from the lineup of SP Takegawa's exhausts for Monkey (carburetor) instead of the exclusive one for Monkey (FI). The M8 spark plug is used for the optimum valve pinching angle and the compactness of the combustion chamber.Machined aluminum cylinder head cover.
■Forced-open camshaft The camshaft of the forced valve opening / closing mechanism is equipped with camshafts that perform independent actions of "opening" and "closing". The camshaft journals are supported by ball bearings on both ends to reduce frictional resistance to the camshaft during starting and at low speeds. The camshafts supplied with the kit are the recommended camshafts for each engine displacement.
■Ceramic-Mexiclinder Adopts all-aluminum ceramic plated cylinder with excellent durability, airtightness and heat dissipation.
■Stroke-up crankshaft A special bearing with a larger inner diameter for the crankshaft journal bearing is used to accommodate high power engines. As a result, the shaft diameter of the journal section, where the stress on the crankshaft is concentrated, is 22mm, which improves strength and durability. In addition, the crankshaft is made of forged material and machined to increase durability. Crankcase press-fit bearings are used on the R side.This reduces friction loss and improves the durability and dynamic performance of the crankshaft.
■Crankshaft support plate (with built-in 3-point support bearing) This is a reinforcement part to increase the durability of the crankshaft.By installing ball bearings in the support plate mounted on the crankcase, the crankshaft journal is changed from a two-point support to a three-point support, which limits the crankshaft runout at high engine speeds. It is especially effective in the high rpm range of large displacement engines.
■SP Takegawa original reinforced crankcase specially designed for Monkey (FI) SP Takegawa's reinforced crankcase is a high quality crankcase specially designed to increase the rigidity and detail of the crankcase to cope with the load on the crankcase caused by the larger displacement. The oil pump is a crankshaft direct drive oil pump.Compared with the chain drive type reinforced oil pump, the discharge volume is about twice as large. The breather pipe has an inner diameter of 6mm to reduce the internal pressure of the crankcase of a large displacement engine. The main body of the crankcase is equipped with an oil jet mechanism that constantly sprays oil directly onto the small end of the connecting rod and piston for lubrication and cooling. The transmission bearing is equipped with a special bearing hold plate for big torque.
■Super cam chain tensioner is adopted. It follows the cam chain and maintains the proper tension.The tensioner arm is machined from ultra high strength duralumin material to increase the thickness of the arm body and also to increase the contact area to the push rod. An oil hole is provided in the arm to lubricate the operating part.The surface is hard anodized.
■The primary kick starter system is adopted. The primary type kick starter allows the engine to be started by disengaging the clutch in any gear, and is recommended for racing use where a quick engine start is required when restarting. In the case of a primary kick, the engine can be started without direct stress on the transmission.
■Reinforced clutch The reinforced clutch uses 5 discs to eliminate clutch slippage that occurs in high power engines. The clutch cover of the special clutch (wet type) (primary type) is made of magnesium die-cast.The surface is painted brown. The clutch cover is a patented clutch cover that allows for the installation of a thermostat.Overcooling can be prevented by installing a thermostat unit (sold separately). Furthermore, an oil outlet is provided to allow oil to be taken out to the oil cooler.Clutch cable 850mm included. The special clutch (wet type / primary type) for the complete engine is the specification with slipper clutch mechanism. The slipper clutch reduces the shock of sudden engine braking when downshifting at high RPM.
■TAF 5 Speed Cross Transmission (S Touring) It has high durability and excellent operability.The complete engine uses the S Touring gear ratio.
■Special Manifold / Big Throttle Body / Large Capacity Injectors A big throttle body, a special manifold and a large capacity injector are equipped in order to cope with the intake air volume which is much larger than stock by adopting a large displacement and a high performance cylinder head. By combining with SP Takegawa exhaust, you can get the best performance from the engine.
■Comes with FI Controller PLUS for Monkey (FI) Complete Engine (PC connection is not necessary.) We have developed a special injection controller "FI CON PLUS" for the complete engine of Monkey (FI). The high performance cylinder head and the large displacement allow you to get the most out of the engine specs.FI-CON PLUS has a 3-dimensional fuel map inside, which is calculated at high speed based on the signals from various sensors, and can perform the best fuel injection according to the engine conditions. In addition to the fuel injection circuit, the ignition system circuit is also built in, and the ignition timing is also optimized to suit the complete engine. These allow the ECU to be used up to higher RPM than the rev limit of the stock ECU. The basic map is set by the difference of the camshaft and the exhaust.The fuel correction and limiter speed settings from the basic map can be easily set by simply turning the rotary switch on the FI-CON PLUS unit with a screwdriver.
