Not difficult to install … quality is fine. The sound is not so large, but it has a strong presence, and I think it is good for large people. I think it's the sound that makes me feel a little Torque fully…
This is a great exhaust for maintaining the stock look and more ground clearance. The stock trim that you will install on this exhaust fits perfectly. It has a slightly deeper sound than stock. The install is simple and the fit couldn't be better. Thank you for the eight day shipping to California, I was surprised!View Detail
Takegawa Sports Exhaust (STD Look Style):I purchased this particular exhaust system to replace the factory system I really don't like. The original Monkey catalyst and loop-pipes hang very low, reducing ground clearance, not to mention it just looks awful. It's also heavy. The Takegawa standard-look is the only aftermarket performance exhaust that maintains the designed-in retro character of the Monkey, which is really great. From the exhaust discharge port on the bike's cylinder head, the Takegawa's header pipe runs directly over to the muffler pipe. This routing saves a lot of pipe length and weight, too. It eliminates the catalyst. 1. Design and quality: Build quality is excellent. Welds are clean, consistent, thorough, and solid. Brackets and mounts are all precision located and line-up with the mating features on the Monkey. Threaded welded-on nuts and other fastening features fit identical to the factory Honda counterparts. The brackets and all fitting on the muffler and pipes are excellent grade workmanship; as good as or better than Honda factory. Overall, a very complete, well designed, quality exhaust system. 2. Installation and fit: I installed in about 30 minutes. Everything lined-up and fit great. The rubber grommets and rubber tab caps from the factory exhaust all get transferred to the Takegawa, and fit just right. 3. Appearance: If I didn't know, I would think this system was made by Honda; it's that good. Gone is the low-hanging, unsightly piping and catalyst. Adding the Takegawa results in a nice, clean look to the Monkey. Of course the header pipe heat shield and the big chrome side shield fit on the Takegawa exactly as they did on the factory system.4. Sound: A big concern I had was the Takegawa would be too loud for my taste. I'm not a big fan of loud pipes and aftermarket performance exhausts. I actually really liked the quietness of the Monkey's engine and exhaust to begin with. So my ears were pleasantly surprised to hear the Takegawa isn't loud; it's deeper tone, not raspy or obnoxious in the least, and has a really nice note to it. Compared to the Yosh (which I heard on a Monkey at the dealer), it's considerably quieter and more of a mellow-deep sound. The Yosh has a bark to it; the Takegawa just sounds deep with a muffled quiet growl. When I ride around the neighborhood and pass by pedestrians and folks in their yards, I don't feel intrusive or noisy. It's pretty quiet, just deeper. 5. Performance: Honestly, I can't detect any power gain using the butt dyno. Bike feels the same, as far as I can tell. The I.D of the tailpipe is marginally larger than the factory's, and it' obviously not as restrictive. Conclusion: The main reasons I bought the Takegawa Sports Exhaust (STD Look Style) were a) improve ground clearance, b) get rid of some unnecessary weight, c) jettison the ugly catalyst & piping beneath the bike - I really hated looking that mess, when the rest of the Monkey is designed so tastefully. If I ever do some real performance improvements to the engine (BBK, cam, etc.), then the Takegawa would probably compliment those well enough. Overall 5-stars! View Detail
very happy with this exhaust. The exhaust was not on stock when i ordered it. I wait 2 months to arrive to the netherlands, but thats ok. The package was very nicely with no damage. Quality and finishing of takegawa are excellent. Fitment is very good. It comes with a new exhaust gasket and 2 nice stickers. It makes the bike a deeper sound, much nicer. Performance did not notice a big difference. The engine runs a lot cooler because there is no cat converter! I would recommend this exhaust to anybody who likes the std look and dont want trouble with noice/police. Greets from the netherlandsView Detail
Having grown up on a Z50 Mini Trail, the mass of exhaust plumbing on this bike really detracted from the look. This exhaust by Takegawa is easily the best and most economical way to return the "classic" look to the Monkey. Only a minor increase in sound, performance seems unaltered. And since I do ride my Monkeys on gravel roads and some minor off-roading, the extra three inches of ground clearance is appreciated, as is losing about 4.5 pounds of weight.View Detail
I love my Monkey but a few things bother me about it...One of those things is all of the exhaust plumbing under the engine.I liked the pipe once it comes back up and appreciate the heat shields. This pipe is what Honda should have put on the Monkey in the first place.I like the little extra volume as well. Packaged safe and sent to the U.S. quick.Very happy!View Detail
This is by far the best looking exhaust for a honda monkey, it also sounds awesome. Not too loud and not too quiet. Installation is super easy and not time consuming. View Detail
About quality and texture, I can confirm that the quality is great and that the material used is stainless steel for the muffler and stainless steel for the pipe. About the feeling of use, The polished stainless steel finish looks awesome on the bike and the noise level of the exhaust is perfect for me at high RPM, generating an enjoyable noise level. Products to buy together, Some more SP Takegawa parts to complement the stainless steel exhaust system would be ideal to also add to your cart. Difficulty of installation, I can say the fitment of the exhaust system was very easy due to the small number of mounting points for the exhaust and the easy acess to these mounting points on the bike. Everything from the rear muffler mount to the front flange studs lined up perfectly. Cost performance and comparison with other products, The pricing of the product is great. You receive an exhaust system that is made using high quality materials and has a high quality surface finish. There are plenty of stainless steel mufflers to choose from but SP Takegawa does it right all the time. About shipping and packaging, My order was shipped within 24 hours of the product being in stock and I received a few emails advising me of the status up until the order was dispatched. The order arrived within the estimated date range and was extremely well packaged. I found the link supplied to track my order very useful while I was waiting for the order to land in the country. Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing, I have no concerns or cautions when purchasing from Webike. I cannot recommend Webike enough for the majority of your biking needs. They not only sell aftermarket parts and bike gear but also OEM parts for your repairs and servicing needs.View Detail
This exhaust flows, sounds, and looks good while being relatively inexpensive. Quaility seems as good or better than the stock exhaust. Keeping the sock heatsheild keeps the bike looking complete IMO. The Monkey looks so charming, so I don't want to change to look to much.Shipping to continental US was reasonable in both cost and time.I only wish it came with an o2 bung pre installed and an optional spark arrestor like the Yoshi, but this exhaust is much less expensive than the full Yoshi.View Detail
About quality and texture, I can confirm that the quality is great and that the material used is steel for the pipe and steel for the muffler that are finished with a high temperature black paint.About the feeling of use, This original designed muffler just looks wonderful fitted to the bike and I am more then happy with the sound output from the muffler. Removing the cataytic converter from the original exhaust has allowed for a significant weight reduction and increase in ground clearance. Products to buy together, An open intake to remove the large original airbox would be ideal to add to your cart to give the Monkey 125 a look to match the Monkey Z50. Difficulty of installation, I can say the fitment of the exhaust system was very easy due to the simple design of the exhaust and the easy acess to the mounting points on the bike. Having everything included you need to complete the installation in this product also helps. Cost performance and comparison with other products, The pricing of the product is great. You receive an exhaust system with a matching design to the original muffler that uses quality materials. The pricing of other quality exhaust systems like this doesn't get any cheaper but does go a lot higher.About shipping and packaging, My order was shipped within 48 hours of me placing the order and I received a few emails advising me of the status up until the order was dispatched. ?attachment The CBR650R is mounted at the same position angle as the NORMAL. However, when the handlebar was cut to the Left lock, it interfered with the interior cover next to the Meter, so the interior cover was cut away. I also purchased a 45° angled banjo adapter for the mesh hose to accommodate the tension of the mesh hose. ・NORMAL (Reserve integrated horizontal master) Impressions of No complaints on public roads. Familiar feel and very easy to handle. However, when the brake is set to "hard brake," the rate of increase in braking force relative to the input seems to decrease, and the brake becomes more forceful. Radipon (Reserve separate body portrait master) Impressions of It was totally different from what I expected, my expectation was that it would feel like a Rear brake… It is really a mild and easy-to-handle radipon. On public roads, it feels like NORMAL! I wonder if it's because NORMAL is the same NISSIN? But I felt the radipon effect from Breaking a little stronger, and It can be hung up to a hard brake without effort. I felt trust that this could stop.View Detail
